Meet Kristy

Kristy Gardner is a bi author of sci-fi and horror because sometimes reality just isn’t unhinged enough.

Her small press published Broken Stars trilogy: The Stars In Their Eyes, The Darkest Stars, The Stars Inside Us (City Owl Press, 2022-2025), is a dystopian queer romance packed with morally grey characters, heart-dropping twists, and emotional disasters fighting for survival (and maybe a little love).

In a past life, she also wrote Cooking with Cocktails, an award-winning cookbook (Countryman Press, 2017) that proves everything is better with a splash of whiskey. Unless you’re alcohol-free, of course, which Kristy is now.

Armed with degrees in Gender Studies and Sociology, she is fascinated by what makes us human, and what happens when we burn it all down to build something new. When she’s not buried in revisions, she can be found in her day job as a communications professional. She also loves chasing stars and iced lattés, climbing mountains, curating book playlists, and plotting her next escape to somewhere far, far away. She currently resides in Vancouver, Canada with her partner and too many houseplants.
